Tips On How To Get The Most Out Of Your Weed Edibles

How many of us buy an edible and either eat too much or too little? How about leaving your edibles in a hot car on a summers day and coming back to a package of melted gummy worms? If you’re like most people, you need some advice on how to get the most out of your weed edibles.

Tips On How To Get The Most Out Of Your Weed Edibles
Pro tip: Unless you want to come back to a puddle of THC, don’t leave your edibles in the car on a hot day.

Tip #1: Read the package on dosing instructions

Most edibles come with instructions on dosage. Follow these instructions carefully and don’t overdose or under-dose! The standard dose is usually 10mg, so if you’ve eaten weed edibles in the past, you can gauge if this is enough or too little for you. Some users like to micro-dose, and take even less than 10mg at a time. This is known as ‘micro-dosing’ where so little THC is consumed that there is little to no euphoria detected. This method is used to gently stimulate you body’s cannabinoid receptors and improve your mood, focus, and creativity.

Make sure to read all the instructions on your edibles packaging for how to properly dose and store them.

Tip #2: Don’t leave your weed edibles in a warm area

All too many times, edibles are left in hot cars or in direct sunlight. These edibles obviously end up melted and inedible. Mold thrives in temperatures between 77º and 86ºF. Store your cannabis in areas with a lower temperature, but not too cold. Lower temperatures also slow the process of decarboxylation of cannabinoids, the process in which THCA converts into the intoxicating cannabinoid THC.

Patience is key when it comes to waiting for edibles to hit.

Tip #3: Be patient

It’s hard to sit and wait patiently while the THC does its job, but this process is extremely important. Make sure to wait about 40-60 mins for the edible to fully kick in before you eat more. This can only lead to overdosing and getting too high. No one likes the feeling of being so high that you can’t even talk, so make sure to wait and be patient until your edible kicks in.

Tip #4: Make sure you are otherwise sober before ingesting a weed edible

To really feel the wonderful effects that our weed edibles have to offer us, make sure you haven’t consumed anything that could mess up your high. We recommend staying away from alcohol or any other stimulants that could interfere with how the edible hits you. Consuming alcohol with weed can lead to you feeling tired, getting a major headache, and just not feeling as good as you would if you had eaten the edible sober.
